I know it don’t seem like much but could I be the one to buy your Sunday brunch? Is that asking too much?

I know that its false, for me to act as if your gaze doesn’t mean that much. It ties me up into knots.

My youth is a crutch, a feeling I forbade is for the first time creeping back up. Ain’t that just my luck?

Still my mask comes unstuck. Another poor attempt to hide from what you’re offering up. I see you calling my bluff.

But there’s a fault line on the road ahead. Another warning sign which I can’t pretend doesn’t scare me to death. I thought I’d paid all my debts and tied up every loose end. I could have sworn I was abreast of every upcoming bend.
